Mobb Deep is a US-based rap duo, consisting of Prodigy and Havoc. The New York duo has been active since 1992 and has released seven albums, several of which have received gold or platinum records. Both rappers also released solo albums.
Havoc (* May 21 1974 bourgeois Kejuan Muchita) and Prodigy (* November 2 1974 , bourgeois Albert Johnson) grew in the New York council estate Queensbridge , from the other hip-hop like Nas , Onyx , and Big Noyd come on. They met at Graphic Arts High School in Manhattan to know and discovered their common interest in hip-hop. 1993 they were from a sub-label of Iceland Records contract made under and released there debut album Juvenile Hell, with productions from DJ Premier and Large Professor . The Rolling Stone called the style of the album as the “evil twins of Kris Kross ‘ . The album was not commercially successful.
Mobb Deep came two years later with the album The Infamous at Loud Records back on the market. The album is the first successful single Shook Ones Pt. II contained in the American Billboard Top 100 the 59th Reaching number. On the whole the album, the guest contributions from Nas, Raekwon , contains a dark and harsh described. Hard bass with piano inserts and many loops determine the music.
Following the 1996 album Hell on Earth was re-released by Loud. It contains the song Drop a gem on ‘em a Disstrack against 2Pac , Mobb Deep on which the single hit ‘em up dissed. Stylistically style, the album as a continuation of the previous described.
Three years later appears the fourth album by the duo Murda Muzik. It are guest performances by Nas, on the single It’s mine (Hot Rap Singles # 25) , Lil ‘Kim , on the single Quiet Storm (Hot Rap Singles # 17) Raekwon and Eight Ball included. Stylistically, this album brings nothing new. After the album released his solo album HNIC Prodigy 2000
First published in 2001 on the album Infamy, there is a style change by the inclusion of R & B elements. This was in the single Hey Luv, together with the singing group 112 was recorded. It is the last album on Loud. 2003 Leave Mobb Deep a recording contract with Jive Records . There they publish 2003 Single Gangstaz Roll, on a song with 50 Cent ‘s as advertisement for the 2004 album Amerikaz Nightmare. The album was not commercially successful and was the only album on Jive.
Havoc After 2003 there for 50 Cent and his G-Unit Mobb Deep and produced without a record deal was, there were negotiations with G-Unit Records , which was completed in mid 2005, however. The album appeared there in 2006 Blood Money included many guest performances by artists of the label. Commercially successful album was, it reached No. 3 on the charts.
After this album both rappers released solo albums. Havoc published in 2007 his debut album The Kush. Prodigy 2007 his second album, Return of the Mac and 2008 HNIC Part 2 . In February 2009, then appeared also Havoc’s second solo album Hidden Files. In April 2009 the group released eight common studio album titled The Safe Is Cracked. The first single is Do not Play. The business of G-Unit Records ended in November 2009.
