Red Hot Chili Peppers – American rock band formed in 1983 in California, vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Michael Belzari (better known as Flea), guitarist Hillel Slovak and drummer Jack Irons. The music combines elements of alternative rock, funk, punk rock and psychedelic music. Throughout the world, sold 60 million copies of albums.

For the first time the group attracted the attention during a speech at the club «Rhythm Lounge» with the song «Out In LA», where the quartet soon gained its first fans. After the group was renamed to «Red Hot Chili Peppers». Cpustya few months after its premiere, the band signed c EMI.

At that time, Slovak and Irons were linked with another group «What Is This?», Which in turn benefits a contract with MCA. This forced them to leave the group, after which their place was taken by Cliff Martinez (drums) and Jack Sherman (guitar). It should be noted that Jack Sherman differ in style of play from «Red Hot Chili Peppers».
Producer’s debut album «The Red Hot Chili Peppers» became Andy Gill. Jill strong pressure on the group, resulting in between the existing tensions. Album «The Red Hot Chili Peppers» was released on Aug. 10, 1984, and had no commercial success. Poor relations between Kiedis and Sherman led to the dismissal of a guitarist. But, fortunately, at this time the group returned to Slovakia.

Produced the second album was George Clinton. Released August 16, 1985 album «Freaky Styley» I’ve never been commercially successful, but, unlike his predecessor, more accurately reflects the style of RHCP. At this time the group left Cliff Martinez, and was replaced by returning to the group, Jack Irons.

Produced third album, made by Michael Beinhorn. Due to the original composition of the group, the new album «The Uplift Mofo Party Plan», released on June 25, 1987, was a success. Simultaneously, the Slovak experienced serious problems with drugs, which led to his death June 25, 1988. The death of Hillel Slovak was a huge shock for the group, leaving Kiedis left the city, and Jack Irons left forever RHCP, stating that he “did not want to be part of what kills his friends.” Flea engaged in other projects.
