B.E. Taylor is a longtime favorite in the Pittsburgh area. He is nationally known for his work as a song writer, music director, and as the lead singer of the B.E. Taylor Group. He recorded three major label albums in six years (two for MCA and one for Epic-CBS). His releases “KAREN” on Epic and “VITAMIN L” on MCA reached the BILLBOARD TOP 100 HITS. He also scored several regional top ten hits. B.E. released Try Love on Chrishae Records in 1997. Try Love features the hit single “This Time,” which was played in 100 markets and charted at #29 on Gavin’s Adult Contemporary Chart. “Love You All Over Again,” also from Try Love, was played in over 63 markets and is still receiving airplay on the nationally syndicated Love Song Show, Delilah, in 200 markets.
B.E recorded a version of Silent Night for a compilation CD issued by Pittsburgh radio station 3WS. It became a hot radio request and generated fan demand for a full length Christmas CD. The “B.E. Taylor Christmas” CD was released on Chrishae Records in 1994 becoming an instant tradition in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and it broke nationally in 1996. In December 2000, B.E. released “B.E. Taylor Christmas 2”, continuing to transform traditional Christmas favorites into his unique sound. It also includes the moving Christmas originals “I Will Remember” and the joyful “Feel The Love of Christmas”. The B.E. Taylor Christmas CDs are must haves for your Christmas collection. The Christmas CDs have been brought to life every year for the past nine years. The live B.E. Taylor Christmas Concert series is an annual sellout and a Christmas tradition in the Pittsburgh area. It has been performed at the prestigious Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh; The West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, Morgantown, WV; The Cathedral Auditorium, New Castle, PA; The Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling, WV; The Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, WV, The Lamb’s Theater, New York City, and in Chicago.
B.E. was the music director, composer, and performer for the award-winning cable TV show, LightMusic which aired on over 1000 cable systems in America and nine foreign countries. LightMusic won the award for BEST Contemporary Christian Mainstream Video Show in 1993, 1994, 1995. During 1994 – 1997 B.E. was music director and toured with Kathy Troccoli. While working with Kathy one of the highlights was performing in Central Park for the Pope’s visit in 1994. B.E. has does commercial sessions and has been heard on several national spots for Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Old Navy, Cleveland Indians, and more.
B.E. Taylor, (birth name William Edward Taylor), was born and raised in Aliquippa,Pa. B.E. writes, records, and performs with his long time pal Rick Witkowski. B.E. donates his time and talent to various worthwhile organizations such as the, United Way, Easter Seals Telethon, the March of Dimes, Toys for Tots, Bundle Up, YWCA, Early Learning Disabilities Institute, Children’s Hospital, Tickets for Kids, etc., throughout the year. He supports and participates in “music appreciation” week in the tri-state area schools by sharing his music and message to students and faculty on the importance of keeping the “arts” alive and growing in our school systems.
